Blacksire truly believes in embodying the spirit of a learning organization – this is why we continuously invest in transforming our employees into future leaders. We recently concluded the Leadership Step Up Program held at G Hotel in Penang on September 17 & 18, 2022, aimed at empowering 26 participants from the Blackwolf Technology, Design, and IT teams with skills and knowledge required to be leaders in the future. The training program was conducted by the prestigious Mr Sifu Wong Kar Wei, who has a wealth of experience behind him, including 13 years’ work in providing corporate training, with a specialization in soft skills training such as workplace supervisory, leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
The program was tailored with the aim to invigorate the leadership mentality among participants, with theoretical and practical knowledge and skills provided by experts. Participants were groomed to focus on switching their mindset from individual-based to become peoples’ leaders, improve workplace communication and build a committed and accountable team with their equally skilled peers. With sharing sessions, trainings, discussions, brainstorming sessions and games, it was a productive yet fun-filled weekend. In addition to the participants gaining valuable outcomes, Blacksire also gained from this experience, by shaping future leaders who would guide our team into the future, as well as action plans for improvements.
Walking the talk in shaping growth & expanding knowledge
The Blacksire Leadership & Development program adopts a tried and tested methodology of training, combining the pursuit of theoretical as well as practical knowledge and skills. Participants of the program are led through a course of formal learning (classroom learning format), informal learning (group guidance by leaders) and hand-on learning (workplace implementation assignments). This guarantees not only retention of new knowledge, but also application in real world scenarios.
The program duration is over 6 months, beginning in May and ending in November with a graduation ceremony. During the course of this program, participants are guided through 3 modules – leading like a strategist, leading like an agile performer and leading with charisma & confidence. Each of these modules are paired with group coaching sessions and assignments, allowing the participants to absorb the information and translate it into their work effectively. The modules, exercises and duration of the Leadership & Development display that it is intense, yet fun and practical as well as offers an in-depth and comprehensive chance for participants to be groomed into future leaders.
