Collaboration – they key to victory

Blacksire, since our conception, has believed in the power of synergy in advancing our ideals, goals and services. By emphasizing and maximizing on the potential of not just individuals but teams within our company, we have witnessed the ability to be resilient as a whole and achieve exponential growth in creativity as employees. Due to this, we are constantly on the path of turning our employees into future leaders through programs, trainings & collaborative platforms – such as at the recently organised DISC Training & Team Bonding event held between September 10-12 at the prestigious Pullman Kuala Lumpur Bangsar Hotel.

This event was attended by over 200 of our Blacksire staff who were teamed up into 21 groups with the aim to share, learn, bond and even stand a chance at winning games during the course of 3 days. The attendees were comprised of individuals and teams who had displayed consistent commitment, willingness to learn and passion towards their work, and were nominated by their superiors such as Managers, Team Leads and HODs.

Levelling up through the power of bonding and learning

The DISC Training & Team Bonding event was highly customized to fit the Blacksire agenda and vision, as 3 days were filled with activities designed to fulfil two main categories of growth – at the individual level such as through understanding personal strengths, increasing self-awareness and overcoming weaknesses, as well as at the team level such as through understanding team dynamics and rapport, achieving common goals together and realizing the Blacksire core values.

DISC is an acronym encompassing four key models of behaviour in the workplace – Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness. These, combined with the Blacksire 7 Core Values, are vital in equipping each employee with not just the ability to transform into future leaders, but also prove that Blacksire, at our core, is a learning organization. The DISC model puts on display the fact that knowledge of personal strengths and limitations are not just key to individual growth, but also key to workplace success.

This important and insightful model to ideal human behaviour was tailored to fit Blacksire’s ecosystem and delivered in tandem with the 4U Institute program by master trainer Mr Michael to the attendees made up of local and international Blacksire staff, with support from translators and interpreters. This shows the truly global nature of Blacksire’s vision and our commitment to outreach to each and every individual regardless of backgrounds.

Turning individual potential into collective success

The DISC Training & Team Bonding event spotlighted the importance of understanding the self, as well as team dynamics as a pathway to organizational success. The outcomes of the event include improved communications, increased self-awareness, better team rapport, insights to overcome limitations and of course, a lot of fun and laughter!

Over the course of 3 days, the burning team spirit and core values of Blacksire was further emphasized, with the enhancement of the DISC human behaviour model of improvement. The concept of ‘family at work’ is a reality at Blacksire, with every attendee committing to learning and engaging throughout the event.

With this in mind, we are excited to organize future platforms to increase bonding and learning!
